RICHMOND HOSTS REGIONAL HOMELESS SUMMIT
The City of Richmond and Contra Costa County, with support from the West County Mayors, will be hosting its first ever West Contra Costa County Regional Homeless Summit on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, 8:30am-5:00pm, at the Richmond Memorial Convention Center , located at 403 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond, CA. The Regional Summit affords each West County city ( El Cerrito, Pinole, Hercules & San Pablo) and service providers, the opportunity to dialogue with regional leaders, garner input, and develop a working plan to address the issues of homelessness in West Contra Costa County. Homeless advocates, as well as interested service providers, should mark their calendars and plan to attend this all important event. KENNEDY KING SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS DINNER

RICHMOND HOSTS OAKLAND EAST BAY SYMPHONY
The City of Richmond presents the West County Concert Series of the Oakland East Bay Symphony 2001-2002 season in three performances at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, Macdonald Avenue and 25th Street in Richmond. Music Director Michael Morgan will conduct the concerts. The final concert is slated for Saturday, June 8, 2002, 7:00pm. The performances are free and open to the public. WELLS FARGO OFFERS FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS WORKSHOP
Wells Fargo & Company is working together with the City of Richmond Housing Division by offering home mortgage workshops to prepare potential homeowners. A free "First Time Home buyers" workshop will be held Saturday, April 20, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Richmond Enterprise Zone Community Center, 314 - 11th Street in Richmond. Participants will learn about such topics as budgeting, saving for a home, lending process, credit repair, home mortgage programs, and expectations of a new homeowner. Pre-registration is required. CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL CLASSIC CAR SHOW "CALL FOR ENTRIES"
The City of Richmond Festival Committee is soliciting entries for the Classic Car Show that will be a new feature of this year's Cinco de Mayo Festival on Saturday, May 4, 2002, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Richmond Civic Center Plaza. The entry fee is $25 per vehicle. Prizes of $1,000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd place, and $250 for 3rd place will be awarded, as well as two Honorable Mention awards, and Certificates of Participation for all entrants. Registration deadline is Friday, April 19, 2002. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy a full day of music, dance, food, children's activities, arts and crafts in celebration of Richmond's Mexican culture and history. RICHMOND POLICE DEPARTMENT'S HOTLINE NUMBER
The Richmond City Council's Public Safety and Public Services Standing Committee encourages the public to use the Richmond Police Department's Hotline Number 1-800-459-5222. This customer service hotline is staffed with a live person during business hours from 9:00am-6:00pm. After normal business hours, an answering machine will record messages from the public for future follow-up. The Public Safety Committee encourages residents to use the hotline when reporting non emergency items, concerns, suggestions, or anonymous tips.

ART CENTER'S 37th ANNUAL "STUDENT ART SHOW"
The Richmond Art Center is hosting its 37th Annual "Student Art Show" featuring exhibitions from local middle and high school students. This year's exhibit will be on display from April 3-May 10, 2002, in the Main Gallery of the Richmond Art Center, 2540 Barrett Avenue in Richmond, CA. Over 400 pieces of artwork such as acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings, as well as drawings, photography, functional ceramics, sculptors and computer illustrations will be available for public viewing. Come out and support young artists by attending this exhibit, and by making a donation toward awards, gift certificates, and savings bonds. HOME WORK HELP PROGRAM
The Richmond Pubic Library is now offering a FREE Homework Help Program every Tuesday for 3rd thru 6th grade students. The homework sessions will take place in the Madeline L. Whittlesey Community Room, adjacent to the Main Library Children's Room. These Tuesday homework sessions will occur from 6:00pm-7:30pm, and commence on March 5 thru May 28, 2002. RPD'S ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT
The Richmond Police Department welcomes your attendance at its Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, March 30, 2002, 9:30am-2:00pm, at Nicholl Park, located at 31st and Macdonald Avenue in Richmond, CA. Donations are still needed for candy, baskets, Easter toys, eggs and dye. Volunteers are also welcome for basket assembly prior to the hunt, as well as decorating park space, hiding Easter eggs, and clean-up. CITY MANAGER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINE
Richmond City Manager, Isiah Turner, has established a new customer service hotline to provide greater responsiveness to residents' concerns. However, this hotline should be used as a last resort to resolve individual and/or community concerns. Effective immediately, residents can now call (510) 231-3031, 24 hours a day for assistance. The hotline is available daily from 8:30am - 5:00pm. From 5:00pm until 8:30am, a voice message will take messages for next day response. For additional information on the City Manager's new customer service hotline, please call the City Manager's Office at (510) 620-6512
