RICHMOND TENNIS CENTER WINS NATIONAL USTA AWARD
The Richmond Youth Tennis Center (RYTC) has been named the USA Tennis NJTL Chapter of the Year by the United States Tennis Association. This honor is bestowed annually among the nations 850 chapters serving 191,000 youth nation-wide. The RYTC is coordinated by Richmond Recreation and Parks Department employee Barbara Lewis (certified teaching professional), and is operated as part of Recreation and Parks program curriculum. Tennis classes and practices are located at Nichol Park Tennis Court. The Richmond NJTL program has 56 children, with 20 of members playing regular tennis three days per week. Another noteworthy program component is RYTC's computer literacy classes which emphasize higher education, attending college and overcoming adversity.
